Windsong Ozark Mountain Music

Wafting through Branson’s IMAX Entertainment Complex, one might hear the distinct sound of a Hammered Dulcimer. The Hammered Dulcimer is a stringed instrument with strings stretched over a sound board. A small mallet or hammer is used to strike the strings, creating a full and textual sound. In the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex, if you follow this sound it will lead you straight to Darla and Lance Monholland of Windsong Ozark Mountain Music.

Windsong Ozark Mountain Music has various CDs and tapes featuring old-time gospel, inspirational favorites, timeless love songs, Christmas songs, carols, patriotic tunes, classic country, fiddle tunes, American favorites and some lively Irish and Scottish tunes, all played with the vibrant sound of the Hammered Dulcimer. On many of the CDs and tapes you will also hear the beautiful vocal harmonies with Darla singing the favorites.

Windsong Ozark Mountain Music doesn’t really fit into any particular category but is more of an eclectic music group. The Hammered Dulcimer is featured on every album played by Darla who is self taught. Lance accompanies Darla with washboard, harmonica, spoons and Irish drum. Lance developed Windsong Studios into an audio and video studio, bringing the Hammered Dulcimer to life through CDs and tapes, as well as Videos and DVDs. Enjoy the Ozark mountain scenery with the music of the Hammered Dulcimer circulating through the air on one of the Windsong Ozark Mountain Music DVDs.
